my view

I made this blog way back but never wrote anything. Documentaries are something so amazing, a medium  so real  and a ware house of knowledge but unfortunately i haven't seen people talking about documentaries much ,haven't seen them getting excited about watching one as much as watching a salman khan movie. Isn't it wonderful that someone has taken efforts to make something available to u without asking for anything. A  piece of knowledge that  someone else has extarcted for u needs some appreciation. U might not like to see all but there are some which are highly interesting that boost you to make one. even i was motivated to make a documentary.  Documentaries shouldn't be made only  for festivals, they should be appreciated by people and  accepted as far as i think.
 there are many types, some are extremely decorative while some are as simple as shooting a birthday video. it varies from  issue to issue.
 there is a category in Oscars  for best documentary. why not in India. some people love to connect with others problems and want to make it a  point that they make others aware about the issue. some write and some make documentaries,  if writing is appreciated then why not documentaries. A very effective media to relate to someones problem its solution and many other facets of it.
 Documentary making  is a task which you make for others more than for yourself. I would like to refer to a link that might get you closer to this medium.
